Our purpose is to encourage students to explore the past, explain the present, and be prepared for the future.
6th Grade
Sixth graders develop an awareness and understanding of places, people, different ways of life, geography in present and past events in the world. Students conduct research using a variety of social studies materials and resources, and then communicate it effectively. The following ancient civilizations are studied: Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Middle Ages, Renaissance.

7th Grade
Seventh grade students will be introduced to a wide range of concepts encompassed under the topic of Social Studies. The study of tolerance and diversity will lead students into the discussion of citizenship and the rights and responsibilities that are associated with this privilege. Students will also be introduced to the different ways a person can become a citizen through the study of the immigration process. Seventh grade students review and explore the events leading to the United States' independence from England through the Declaration of Independence and creation of the United States Constitution.
During the second semester students will study the three branches of U.S. Government as described in the Constitution along with uncovering the lasting effects of the Bill of Rights. Students will be able to identify how these concepts addressed in the Bill of Rights affect the legal system and their lives. Students will learn to apply these ideas firsthand through mock trials and legal debates. As the westward along with the Industrial Revolution and the struggles for equality existing in our quickly growing country.
