Kindergarten Registration


Registration for 2012-2013 five (5) year old kindergarten students began Monday, January 9, 2012.

Visitation for 2012-2013 five (5) year old kindergarteners will be held in March. Children born on or before September 1, 2007, are eligible for kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year.

Call for an Appointment

Beginning Monday, January 9, 2012, parents/guardians should call their neighborhood school during school office hours to make an appointment for the five-year-old Kindergarten Registration/Visitation.  Your child’s placement in the seats available at your neighborhood school is based on the date and time of your call to the school.  Emails, faxes, and voicemails will delay the process. 

Kindergarten Visitation will be held on the following days:

  • Monday, March 5 Eastside Elementary 834-7403
  • Tuesday, March 6 Creekside Elementary 834-7703
  • Wednesday, March 7 Horizon Elementary 834-7903
  • Tuesday, March 13 Royal Oaks Elementary 834-7203
  • Wednesday, March 14 C.H. Bird Elementary 834-7303
  • Tuesday, March 20 Northside Elementary 834-7103
  • Wednesday, March 21 Westside Elementary 834-7503

Records to Bring to Kindergarten Visitation

Both the child and a parent/guardian should attend the one-hour visitation in March.  (The Kindergarten Visitation dates are listed above.)  Please bring the following documents to the visitation:
1.    Child’s birth certificate (must be the original, not a photocopy)  (Not needed if your child is in the SP4K program.)
2.    Immunization records  (Not needed if your child is in the SP4K program.)
3.    Proof of Sun Prairie residency (current lease or utility bill)

Early Entrance to Five (5) Year Old Kindergarten

Children born before December 31, 2007 who demonstrate advanced potential for learning and meet specific criteria may be eligible for early entrance to kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year.   Requests must be submitted in writing prior to March 1 , 2012, to Jennifer Apodaca, Executive Director of Student Services, Sun Prairie Area School District, 501 S. Bird St., Sun Prairie, WI  53590.
