Sun Prairie High School Performing Arts Center

Welcome!
The Sun Prairie High School Performing Arts Center opened in August of 2010 as part of the new high school.  The Performing Arts Center seats 767 on the main floor plus an additional 272 in our balcony.  We have 8 various locations for wheelchair seating as well as 10 seats that are handicapped-accessible.

Thanks to the use of our three traveling curtains and ten various curtains on our 23 line fly system; we are able to shape our 50’ wide by 49’ deep stage to feature almost any size group while still having additional free fly lines.

Larger acts can take full advantage of our 2400 plus square foot performance space whereas groups of any size may choose to take advantage of our orchestra pit or our brand new Wenger Diva acoustical shell system to ensure they get the sound they want from their performance.

Featuring a Steinway D Piano!

Thanks to The Steinway Project’s fundraising campaign, the Performing Arts Center is the proud home to a brand new Steinway Concert Grand Model D Piano which is stored in its own climate controlled garage. This piano is 9 feet in length and has earned the praises of world renowned artists, as well as most everyone that has had a chance to play it in our acoustically engineered auditorium.

Technology Its Best!
From a technological stand point; the Performing Arts Center is first-rate. Our lighting system currently consists of four over stage electrics, a catwalk over the house, and box positions on both sides that house over 150 lighting fixtures. All of this is controlled by an ETC Ion light board featuring 1024 outputs as well as the 2x20 fader wing attachment capable of controlling every light individually as well as storing over 10,000 light cues. Our audio system is controlled by a Roland M400 Digital Mixer with a built in effects processer capable of controlling up to 48 inputs at a time through a digital REAC system.
