Horizon School Community Organization, Inc. (Horizon SCO)

The SCO is a non-profit corporation make up of volunteer parents and/or guardians of students at Horizon Elementary interested in supporting the school and community.  The SCO fundraises throughout the year to generate funds for a yearly budget.  Those funds help provide grants, host social events throughout the year, provide hardship funs, keep Horizon families informed about their school and events and help organize volunteers to assist students and teachers.

The SCO is lead by an elected board (listed above) and is made up of committee chairpersons and general members (any parent/guardian of a Horizon student).  The SCO works closely with the principal and the Horizon staff.  Committees are established as needed and run by volunteers from the general membership.  The SCO meets on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning at 6:30 pm in room D115.   We know that attending monthly meetings can be difficult for some families.  You can still be actively involved and are welcome to contact any board member for more information.
